Trip Plan for Polar Bear

Camp Butler Penninsula, OH

Date and Time of Departure: Saturday, February 9th, 7:30am - Old Church

Trip Coordinator: Mr. Drown

Purpose: To learn how to camp in the winter. We will earn our Polar Bear Award. The troop will be using Adirondacks for sleeping quarters. Adirondacks are small shelters with bunks. These shelters do not have heat so plan accordingly for sleeping gear.

Backpack check will be done at February 5th meeting

Activities:

Saturday  
7:30am Meet at Old Church, Load up troop gear and depart as soon as ready.
8:30am Expected Arrival Camp Butler, Check-in.
9:00am Setup camp, collect firewood.
10:00am Hike
11:00am Return from Hike
12:00pm Lunch
1:00pm Lunch and Cleanup complete
1:15pm Work on Advancement
2:00pm Free time
5:00pm Begin supper preparation
5:30pm Eat dinner
6:15pm Cleanup dinner
6:45pm Campfire
7:00pm Campfire Program
8:00pm Flag retirement
8:30pm Free time, mill about smartly
10:00pm Turn-in
10:30pm Quiet time
Sunday  
6:30am Reveille and breakfast
7:30am Pack up camp
8:00am Return to Assumption

Location: Camp Butler, Penninsula, OH

Cost: $15.00 per scout and permission slip due at troop meeting on February 16th

Estimated Time of Return: Sunday, February 10th, 8:00am
