Manatoc and the Cleveland Rock Gym

| The troop met
at the Old Church at 6:00 P.M. on Friday, March 23, 2007,
as we all prepared for a winter cabin campout at Camp
Manatoc. We departed the Old Church at 6:30 P.M., and
arrived at the campsite at about 7:00 P.M. After we
unpacked all the gear, we collected wood for a fire, and
then went in for a night of fun, specifically playing the
board game RISK. We played into the night, and
eventually, we all went to bed. Saturday morning came, and we all enjoyed a delicious breakfast as we played more games. We then took a break from all of our games and helped some of the younger scouts improve on their scout rank. As morning rolled over into the afternoon, we packed up what we needed and went to the Cleveland Rock Gym to do some rock climbing. There was nowhere to go but up as the Troop enjoyed climbing up the many challenging rock walls. After an afternoon of fun, we headed back to the cabin for the evening. After a very good meal of chili, hot dogs (or chili dogs), and a fresh salad to boot, compliments of Mr. and Mrs. Mayher, we enjoyed playing some more board games and card games like RISK and UNO, late into the night. As the sun rose Sunday morning, we packed up all of our gear and cleaned out the cabin, leaving it as clean as a whistle. After all the gear was at the cars, the cabin was inspected and passed with flying colors, and we were free to head on our way. We then left the campsite, and headed back to the old church, where we unpacked the troop gear. Then, finally, we said our goodbyes, and everyone went their separate ways, concluding a great camping experience. Purpose: Have a fun time on a cabin camping trip. Help 1st year scouts and others to learn scout skills for advancement. Try our hand at indoor Rock Climbing. Activities:

Cost: $15.00 for food and lodging + $18.00 for rock climbing = $33.00 total cost. Permission Slip and fee are due at meeting on March 6th! It is very important to turn in your fees on time. We have to make reservations with the Rock Gym in advance so they will have enough staff on hand. Estimated Time of Return: Sunday, March 25th, 9:30am Items to Bring:
