Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops

December 5-6, 2015
Byzantine Monastery, North Royalton, OH

The weekend originally planned for Troop 810's annual leadership training course (ILST) was changed into a strategy meeting because the members that came had already gone through training. After arriving Friday night we stoked up the wood stove to warmed up the cabin. The rest of the evening we had a lot of fun playing cards and enjoying some snacks. Saturday morning began with a quick, but yummy breakfast from Dunkin' Donuts. After breakfast we decided to have a troop strategy and planning meeting and finish up the weekend at noon. There were three areas of improvement identified for the troop: Leadership Training, Advancement, and Positions of Responsibility. By working and listening to each other we came up with ideas and formed a plan to improve each area. Once completed we cleaned up the cabin and went outside to work on a service project. For our service project we cleaned up some of leaves around the cabin. We then put away our tools and headed home. On the outing were James, Harrison, Ian, Matt, Peter, Stephen K, Steven Z, Dr. Kimatian, and Mr. Makowski.
