Hinckley Trail Trek

May 9, 2002

Cleveland MetroParks Hinckley Reservation

We had a great hike through the MetroPark woods around Hinckley lake. The day started out very pleasant, but before the end of our Trek we received some rain. During the trip we saw a number of people walking the trails while we enjoyed learning map and compass skills. At each of the 14 control points the scouts were presented with a problem to solve using their outdoor essentials. Two control points were hidden to give them some practical Orienteering experience. Hike participants included Andrew, Jared, Kyle, Philip, Mr. Makowski, Mr. See, Mr. Svihlik, Mr. Thomas. Sorry, no pictures for this one.
