Centennial Camporee

The Centennial Camporee was well attended and there were many things to do and exhibits to see. Pioneering, rock wall climbing, bottle rockets, geocaching, K-9 demonstrations, old badges for sale! The boys and adults had a fun time and enjoyed the nice weather.

Centennial Camporee is a gathering of scouting units from all over the Greater Cleveland Council. An encampment such as this does not happen often. It is a large event filled will all kinds of things to see and do.

Date and Time of Departure: Friday, May 21st, 5:00pm - Old Church

Purpose: Gather with other scouts from around the council for fun and new experiences.

Location: Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds, Berea, OH

Directions: Scouts will have a short hike from Rocky River Reservation (southern section) to the Fair Grounds.

Cost: $30.00 per scout (permission slip and fee due at meeting on April 20th)

Estimated Time of Return: Sunday, May 23rd, 10:00am

Items to Bring and Things to know:

  • $Money$ for Lunch at Concession Stands
  • Food will be available for purchase throughout the day on Saturday, May 22nd, from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm for a nominal fee. Food tickets must be purchased at the ticket booth on site at the Encampment for ala Carte items. NO REFUNDS. NO EXCEPTIONS. Vendors will not take cash, they will only take tickets. One Ticket = $1.00
    Corn Dog: 2 Tickets- Chicken Sandwich: 4 Tickets-French Fries: 3 Tickets- Quarter Pound Hamburger: 3 Tickets - BBQ Pork: 4 Tickets ¼ lb-Hot Dog: 3 Tickets - Nachos & Cheese: 2 Tickets - Pop: 2 Tickets - Coffee,Hot Chocolate & Bottled Water: $1.00

  • GREATER CLEVELAND COUNCIL SCOUT SHOP: The Scout Shop will be operating in building #33, next to gate #3, throughout the weekend. Souvenir items will be available such as patches, hatpins, mugs, t-shirts, etc. Other Scouting items will also be on sale.
  • VISITORS: Visitors are welcome and encouraged to come and see the Encampment. ALL VISITORS must report to gate #5 to signin
    and receive an appropriate wristband. Should security find someone without a wristband, they will be escorted to the Encampment Headquarters.
