Whitewater Rafting and Canoeing

June 10-11, 2004

Ohiopyle State Park
Ohiopyle, PA

A hearty group of families turned up for our rafting and canoeing adventure at Ohiopyle. Rain was in the forecast, but that didn't stop this group from enjoying themselves. We arrived later in the evening and made camp in the dark. The rain held up long enough for us to get the tents and dining flies set up. Before turning in for the night we had a snack featuring popcorn and fruit drink. It started raining soon after we went into our tents, but then let up in time for breakfast. The sun even came out while finishing breakfast and breaking camp. After that the group split up to head off for rafting or canoeing.

Everyone had a great time on the river even though it rained pretty much the entire time we were paddling. Going through the rapids made for a very exciting rafting trip. Many of the rafters found their way into the water after falling overboard. The canoers had a pleasant trip down stream. We had a safe and pleasant outing. All of the participants are looking forward to doing it again. The paddlers included Alex D., Alex U., David, Jared, Joey, Justin, Kevin, Kyle, Nate, Ryan, Ms. J. Cree, Mrs. Cree, Mr. Dzurnak, Mr. Klaasse, Krymowski Family, Mr. Makowski, Mr. Schaffeld, Mrs. Soroczak, Mr. Svihlik, Mr. Ulintz. More pictures will be posted as soon as they become available.

Breakfast time at the campsite with both group.

That was so good I'm going back for seconds.

Jared, what are you doing?

The rafters pose for a shot before taking on the rapids.

Waiting for gear issue.
