Camp Merz - July 14-21, 2012

22 Scouts and adult leaders went to summer camp at Camp Merz in New York near Lake Chautaqua. The Camp offered many exciting and fun merit badges to keep us busy and give us new knowledge throughout the week. They also offered a great first year Scout program that gave the new scouts an opportunity to learn new scout skills and get requirements signed off. There was also an array of Eagle required merit badges for the scouts to earn towards that rank. Some of the highlights of the camp were the different activities that the camp held every night, from a karaoke night where some of our scouts sang their hears out, to the water carnival where some scouts competed and won a greased watermelon out of the lake. Our troop was also invited to go have s'mores with another troop where we did some skits and songs and also learned a few new ones. Camp Merz was and exciting and fun summer camp that gave us many new experiences and we would be happy to go back some day. Those enjoying the week were Adam K., Alex L., Alex S., David K., Dominic C., Erich S., Evan V., Harrison K., Ian F., Kyle F., Michael A., Mitchell B., James S., John W., Luke B., Nick H., Raymond B., Sam V., Stephen K., Steven Z., Stewart H., Will D., Mr. Cotugno, Mr. Dzurnak, Mr. Kelly, Dr. Kimatian, Mr. Ke Sewell, Mr. Ku Sewell, Mr. Sonntag, and Mr. Wrabel.
