Manatoc and Sportsman Show
March 19-21, 2004
Peninsula, OH
We had a wonderful time at Forester Lodge in Camp Manatoc. It was a little chilly when we arrived the first night, so the troop built a fire in the stove and fireplace to warm things up. There was even time to play a game of Risk the first evening. Our PLC decided on Cooking as the theme for this weekend. The menu was more extensive than a typical campout meaning a little more work in the kitchen, but some great food as a result. The more experienced scouts worked with first time scouts on the beginning advancement requirements. Many ended camp well on their way to Tenderfoot. In the afternoon the troop spent time at the Sportsman Show in the IX Center. Upon our return to camp we cooked a delicious Pork Stir Fry. Everyone worked up a good appetite at the show leaving clean plates and pans. Our evening was spent playing Risk and watching the movie "October Sky". We left early on a snowy morning to get back to Assumption Church for our monthly Scout Mass. In attendance for the weekend at Manatoc and visit to the Sportsman Show were Alex, DJ, Eric, Kyle, Jared, Joey J., Joey P., Matt, Ryan, Steven, Mr. Dzurnak, Mr. Makowski, and Mr. See. |
